Mine, which face SW, were desiccated and all but destroyed by last summer’s heat. Not a bloom this year! I need to cut the whole plant back and start over.
Sorry to hear that, Peter. I have a gardening friend diagnosed recently and she has had to curtail a lot of her garden chores. Hard when you love it as much as she does. Take care of yourself.
Beautiful. I passed a house this morning that had a large planting at their mailbox, and I was admiring them. Good timing. In reading the comments, I’m sorry you’re have medical issues and hope there is a plan to keep things in check as much as they can. I certainly understand chronic issues.
Meds are helping, and much walking. But leg weakness is proving hard to counter, despite daily exercises. So Marian and I now both have progressive disease with uncertain timing! But as she says, we are now “walking each other home” and enjoying each day!
I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I have smiled and said it now takes two of us to do what one of us use to do with no issues. Here’s hoping you both keep ‘walking each other home’ for a long time.
A great, late-season plant!

Ooh, too bad. Do you mulch? Soaker hoses might be helpful in that situation as well.
Happy Autumn!

You’re right. But I am sadly “aging out” of garden work that takes much effort! Recent diagnosis of “early Parkinson’s” prob explains my symptoms.
