It’s strange for us once-Brits to see Queen Mary 2 tied to a pier in Brooklyn – now just another Cruise ship, not the Atlantic-crossing Cunard liner we knew long ago!
It was a simple and short one- Sunday to Sunday out of the Manhattan cruise terminal on the Hudson. Great views of the city in the first half hour, then the surprise view up the east river of the QM2 docked at Red Hook, Brooklyn! Norwegian Cruise Line again; they are reasonably priced and have multiple sailing from NYC. We only went ashore in Halifax; shore outings are expensive and rarely handicap-friendly! But our goal had been Halifax, where a rental car was ready for us to drive about 50mi south to visit Marian’s sister and bro-in-law. They are mid 80s, he has multiple myeloma and severe osteoporosis, she has had a fever for two weeks and is now hospitalized! We were very glad we managed the visit; so were they! 1000mi drives from LI to Nova Scotia are now a bit beyond us.Weather was perfect, handicap staterooms excellent, much eating and sitting/sleeping in the sun on deck! A great week. Bar Harbor was beautiful as always.
It sounds like it was a perfect week with good accommodations, great views, and a wonderful family visit. I’ve read about these but had no idea what they included so I appreciate your giving me a synopsis. Best to you both.
Well, son of a biscuit! You were in Portland. Lovely pictures.

Great photos! Now, tell me about your trip. Did you board in Brooklyn? Did you get off in Portland, Bar Harbor, and Halifax? How many days?

WP can be frustrating. I had a spell when people vanished. Only “solution” I found was to unfollow them, and then follow them again…
